Lee Sang Yeob is opening up about married life and sharing a rare detail about his wife’s career. On the January 8th episode of Where is My Home, the cast headed to Yeouido, Korea’s financial hub, to kick off the new year with a look at the economic outlook.
Before the tour began, the panel compared their stock-trading luck—and Lee Sang Yeob didn’t sugarcoat his record. “I have never made money,” he admitted. “When I buy, it drops. When I sell, it goes up.”
During a coffee break with Jang Dong Min and Joo Woo Jae, the conversation turned personal. Jang Dong Min asked whether Lee Sang Yeob’s wife works in finance. Lee clarified, “She’s not exactly in securities.
She works in project financing. She raises funds for large-scale projects.” He added that because of her job, she is not allowed to trade stocks at all. “There are professions with strict trading restrictions,” he explained.
Joo Woo Jae jokingly spun a conspiracy theory, suggesting she might secretly pass him insider tips. Lee shut it down with a laugh, saying, “If that were true, I would have made money by now.”
Investment expert and author Park Min Soo later backed up Lee’s explanation, noting that while some brokerage employees can trade under strict reporting rules, people with access to internal corporate information are completely barred. “Sharing that information privately would be illegal,” he explained.
