TEMPEST has officially ended its activities in the South Korean music industry. The group, managed by YH Entertainment, disbanded on Tuesday (October 20, 2026).

"After a long period of in-depth and thoughtful discussion with the members, we have decided to end TEMPEST's activities and will focus on each member's individual endeavors going forward," YH Entertainment said in their official statement.

In the statement, YH Entertainment announced that Hyuk would enlist in the military this month. Meanwhile, Lew chose not to renew his contract with the management agency, which was set to expire on November 1, 2026, and resigned.

Hanbin, Hyeongseop, Eunchan, and Taerae have decided to stay with YH Entertainment. They will no longer perform together as TEMPEST, but are ready to pursue individual activities.

"Our management will continue to provide full support to Hanbin, Hyeongseop, Eunchan, and Taerae so they can showcase new sides of themselves through their individual activities.

We ask for your continued support and interest in the members as they embark on their own journeys. We will always cherish every moment we have spent together under the name TEMPEST, as well as the precious love our fans have given us," YH Entertainment continued.

In closing, they apologized for this announcement and went on to thank iE (the fans) for their continued support of TEMPEST since their debut. "We will do our best to show our deepest gratitude for the incredible love and support our fans have given us," they concluded.

TEMPEST debuted with a six-member lineup in 2022: Lew, Hanbin, Hyeongseop, Hyuk, Eunchan, Taerae, and Hwarang. The latter departed in 2024.

The group's debut was delayed due to several members contracting COVID-19 at the time. After officially debuting in Korea, they also ventured into the Japanese music industry, officially releasing music there in 2024.
