PLAVE has once again set a sales record with their latest album, HYPERDRIVE. The EP, which was released physically on October 13, 2026, has already sold 1.3 million copies! According to Hanteo Chart records, PLAVE achieved their best-selling physical album of their career.
Between October 13-19, HYPERDRIVE sold 1,322,973 copies. Hanteo Chart records album sales directly to fans, not shipping, as Circle Chart does! HYPERDRIVE beats PLAVE's previous record, Caligo Pt. 2, released earlier this year.
According to Hanteo, the album sold 1,255,801 copies. Streaming for this album is also quite impressive. As of Wednesday (October 21, 2026), all songs on the album have been streamed at least 1.3 million times on Spotify.
Star Trace, the title track for HYPERDRIVE, has the highest number of streams at 2.6 million. On Wednesday afternoon, Star Trace also remained strong on the Melon Top 100 chart. Having climbed to the top 10, the song now sits at #11.
The album's tracklist is also still on South Korea's main domestic chart a week after its release. "Star Trace," a song with an EDM-pop feel, marks PLAVE's first foray into the genre. In an official release received by detikcom, "Star Trace" also signifies the group's new sonic direction and tone.
The song reflects the sincere relationship PLAVE and their fans have built since the beginning of their career, continuing the long-established narrative of the fictional worlds of Asterum and Terra.
Star Trace is a collaboration between PLAVE and Rob Grimaldi, previously known as the co-writer and producer of BTS's "Butter." Grimaldi wrote the lyrics for the song. Towards the end of this year, PLAVE is expanding their career to the United States.
Following their debut on the Billboard 200, HYPERDRIVE will be directly promoted with the 2026 PLAVE World Tour [KEEP IT MANIC] concert at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium this November 2026.
