Sony surprised the audience at the CES 2020 Event today with a new concept electric car, called the VISION-S prototype.
This electric concept car is the first prototype vehicle under Sony's mobility efforts called the Vision-S initiative.
Sony shared some of the details about the prototype car, which is meant as a showcase for Sony’s technologies for the automotive industry.
The company focused on three aspects on the new concept car’s technology in its presentation – safety, entertainment, and also adaptability.
The Vision-S is loaded with Sony's sensors and other technologies.
Sony's Vision-S prototype car is loaded with 33 sensors to monitor the outside and inside of the car most likely including ones that enable autonomous driving, 360 Reality Audio tech, wide-screen displays and other features.
Sony claims the electric car is capable of delivering 400kW (536hp) of power through an all-wheel-drive system powered by two electric motors. This two motors allows 0-100km/h (0-62mph) with acceleration of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 240km/h (149mph).
