Vivo has officially announced that it will launch the Vivo S9 series on March 3. The smartphone series will be first introduced in China and is likely to be rolled out in other markets soon.
Confirming the S9 series, Vivo has posted an official teaser of the phone as well. The company has roped in Japanese artist LiSA as the brand ambassador for the new series. The teaser highlights the selfie features of the upcoming smartphone.
The Vivo S9 series has appeared in multiple leaks in the last couple of weeks. According to reports, Vivo S9 will also be the first smartphone to run on MediaTek’s top-end Dimensity 1100 processor. The series will also include a model, dubbed as Vivo S9e, which will run on the Dimensity 820 processor.
According to leaks so far, Vivo S9 will come with a 6.44-inch display with full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The highlight of the phone is going to be a dual-selfie camera. Leaks claim the phone has a 44-megapixel primary sensor on the front. On the back, it will have a 64-megapixel quad camera setup. Details about other sensors in the setup are not known yet.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1100 processor will be coupled with up to 12GB of RAM. A 4,000mAh battery will power the smartphone. It will also come with 33W fast charging support. Other leaked features of the phone are Android 11, 5G support, and glass-metal-glass design.
As far as the S9e goes, the cheaper version is rumoured to come with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display and a 90Hz refresh rate. It will have a 32-megapixel selfie camera. It will also have a 64-megapixel quad-camera setup on the back.
Apart from the Dimensity 820 SoC, Vivo S9e will have 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. There are also rumours of the phone being available in a 12GB RAM variant. A 4,000mAh battery will reportedly power the smartphone.
