POCO Global is back with its newest smartphone, called the POCO F4 GT, after a brief hiatus. The handset will be announced in global markets on April 26. Last year, the company released the F3 GT, which was effectively a rebadged Redmi K40 Gaming Edition that’s only available in China. Thus, the F4 GT might be a rebadged Redmi K50 Gaming Edition that’s also only available in China.
The POCO F4 GT could likely be a rebranded Redmi K50 Gaming Edition smartphone. It is expected to come with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it might be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS3.1 storage.
On the optics front, the POCO F4 GT will have a triple camera setup on the rear, with a main 64MP sensor, along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, we might get to see a 20MP selfie shooter. The smartphone packs a 4,700mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging.
Connectivity options on the POCO F4 GT should include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a Type-C port. Other features on the smartphone include Android 12 OS out of the box with MIUI 13 out of the box, magnetic trigger buttons, an all-metal build, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and more.
For pricing and availability, the POCO F4 GT is expected to come in two storage options—8+128GB and 12+256GB. The handset is expected to cost around $599 in the global markets. In addition to the Poco F4 GT, the company announced that its first AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) products will be released soon. Although there is no news on what this device will be, we believe it will be their first set of truly wireless buds.
