BTS 's decision to go on hiatus received mixed responses from the public. Although most fans support the decision, not from the Korean Musicians Association. Not long ago, the chairman of the association, Lee Ja Yeon, released an official statement publicly to BTS. They asked RM Cs to reconsider their decision to take a break from activities as a group.

"I was overcome with fear and worry about 'BTS Hallyu Waye, a movement that has the greatest cultural power the world has ever witnessed, will disappear," said Lee Ja Yeon. "In the last few years leading up to the birth of this movement, we believed finding 'The Next Beatles' would be a very difficult achievement. And now we have come to a point where we would hardly expect 'The Next BTS' to appear any time soon.

So, I'm worried that the Hallyu heartbeat will disappear." Through this statement, Lee Jae Yeon said fans of Korean culture would go if BTS went on hiatus. He also disclosed a request to the government to revise the mandatory military law. "The decision to publish this statement was not easy.  We hope that BTS will consider taking a hiatus for the future of the South Korean music industry?

If BTS leaves, then the Hallyu missionaries and Korean culture, ARMYs, will also leave. The South Korean tourism industry will suffering, and it will be difficult to expect South Korea's future as a cultural center in Asia," added Lee Ja Yeon.  "Special laws given to sportsmen and the classical arts music industry in terms of military service should also be extended to pop culture. Attention and action is needed on this urgent matter.

The South Korean government and National Assembly must pay attention to this issue so that Hallyu's popularity can continue. spread, and BTS can continue to actively promote as a group.  We hope that the government will revise the mandatory military law!" he concluded. BTS or HYBE still have not commented on the statement from the Korean Musicians Association.

Meanwhile, BTS revealed plans to go on hiatus and focus more on individual projects. Alternately, the BTS members will release their respective solo albums, starting with J-Hope who will reportedly release a solo album in mid-July 2022. On the other hand, Jungkook has announced his collaboration with Charlie Puth. They will release a single titled Left and Right on June 24, 2022.
