Hallyu queen Song Hye Kyo is set to return with a new K-drama "The Glory," as she teams up with rising star Lee Do Hyun. Some are excited for Song Hye Kyo's South Korean drama comeback. However, others are not as thrilled. Keep on reading for all the details. Recently, Netflix Korea introduced the official cast line-up of stars joining the upcoming series.

Besides Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun, headlining the series, Im Ji Yeon, Park Sung Hoon, Jung Sung Il, and Yeom Hye Ran will also appear as lead stars. In addition, Shin Ye Eun, who appeared in "Yumi's Cells 2," will join as the younger version of Im Ji Yeon. As mentioned by the streaming giant, Song Hye Kyo will begin her much-awaited revenge with Lee Do Hyun, who was a secret story.

Besides the interesting cast lineup, "The Glory" is penned by Kim Eun Sook, who wrote "The Heirs," "Mr. Sunshine," "The King: Eternal Monarch," and Song Hye Kyo's "Descendant of the Sun." At the same time, the forthcoming K-drama is helmed by Ahn Gil Ho, the director behind "Stranger," "Memories of the Alhambra," "Happiness," and "Record of Youth." While fans are looking forward to the A-listers' comeback to the small screen, some viewers are dismayed with the pairing of lead stars.

According to an outlet, "The Glory" is gaining criticism after it officially confirmed lead stars Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun. Disappointed viewers expressed that the 14-year-age gap seems odd, while some even pointed out that the actress "seems like she likes men younger than her." However, Lee Do Hyun's role remains a mystery since it is not stated whether he will be the love interest of Song Hye Kyo's character.

In the upcoming K-drama, the Hallyu queen takes the role of Moon Dong Eun, who once suffered harassment during her high school years. Due to this, she promised to make them pay by spending years plotting revenge against the bullies who destroyed her childhood. As for Lee Do Hyun, he will be Joo Yeo Jung, whose character is described as happy and cheerful on the outside but harbors a complicated secret.

Lim Ji Yeon will play the role of Park Yeon Jin, the high school queen bee responsible for ruining Moon Dong Eun's life, while Jung Sung Il will play the the role of Yeon Jin's husband, Ha Do Young, and the CEO of a major construction company. The plot thickens after their family falls into a trap created by Moon Dong Eun.

"The Glory" is not the first time Song Hye Kyo was paired with a much younger male lead. To recall, the 40-year-old star headlined the romance series "Encounter" with Park Bo Gum in 2018. It was followed by her comeback K-drama, "Now, We Are Breaking Up," with Jang Ki Young, who is 11 years younger than the actress. However, despite the odd pairing, as some viewers raised, fans defended Song Hye Kyo and mentioned they could feel the duo's on-screen chemistry.
