A number of K-Pop idol members have recently been reported to have contracted the COVID-19 virus. Among them include STAYC who even had to postpone the fan meeting. The news was delivered by HIGH-UP Entertainment as management. Five STAYC members have tested positive for COVID-19.
Initially on August 8, 2022, Sumin, Sieun, Isa, and Seeun were declared positive for COVID-19. Fear of being declared positive for COVID-19 after undergoing a test after feeling a sore throat. After that, the members tested negative while undergoing a self-test. However, Sumin, Isa, and Seeun tested positive while undergoing a rapid antigen test.
All members who tested positive for COVID-19 had previously been vaccinated against COVID-19 and only experienced symptoms of a sore throat. On August 9, 2022, HIGH-UP Entertainment again announced that 2 other STAYC members had tested positive for COVID-19, namely Yoon and J. "J, a member of STAYC , tested positive for COVID-19 on August 9, 2022.
J previously tested negative while undergoing a PCR test on August 8, but suddenly he felt pain in several parts of his body and then underwent a rapid antigen test," explained management. "J was later declared COVID-19 on August 9, 2022. Currently, J is not showing any symptoms other than body aches. He is undergoing self-quarantine at home according to the advice of the medical team," he continued.
After J, the other STAYC members also underwent a PCR test. Yoon was declared negative on August 9, 2022. This made the management decide to postpone the STAYC fan meeting titled STAY COOL PARTY which was supposed to be held on August 13, 2022. "Currently we are still continuing to review the health condition of our artist.
In the future, we will immediately notify fans about the replacement schedule and ticket sales," explained management. "We want to apologize to fans, especially those who have anticipated this event, for the inconvenience. We will continue to monitor the health of our artists and provide further announcements," he concluded.
