One Dollar Lawyer episode 2 begins with us finally seeing what evidence will prove Myeong-ho's innocence, it's a box that contains nothing. That leaves the judge, Ma-ri and the jury confused, and Ji-hun insists that everyone should assume that the defendant is innocent until he is proven guilty because that's what Korean law dictates. He, thus, asks Ma-ri to include evidence that definitively proves Myeong-ho guilty, which leaves her speechless.
He told the court that the prosecution had no evidence, and there was no way for them to prove he had the intent to steal because he was arrested for trying to steal, not for stealing. Either way, Ji-hun brings Myeong-ho to the stand and fiery questions begin after throwing more terrifying questions at him; Ji-hun brings the only real witness in front of everyone and comes out on a rather interesting show for them that leaves the jury and judges confused and speechless.
After a rather excited final statement from the two of them, everyone reigns in Myeong-ho and Ji-hun's favor and everyone is left happy and relieved. Well, except for Ma-ri, who looks a bit salty. However, she shakes hands with him later, which, in turn, turns into Ji-hun asking him (or prosecution) for damages that would cover Somi's medical bills. As things turn out for the best for everyone and everyone celebrates, Ma-ri is left with Ji-hun's final words to her when she appeals none of us really know the truth; we all go there.
However, he ended up throwing it away, as we saw the next day. As Ma-ri prepares to leave her probationary period, Ye-jin gives her a crumpled appeal sheet and tells her to look at it when she loses focus. After all, Ma-ri moves on to bigger and better things, including that she will meet her grandfather, your Baek Hyun, with aplomb. However, things don't go well for him, unfortunately, because Hyun-mu tells him that he can't become a probationary employee at his company, but rather, he'll be working somewhere in Seoul Jongno-gu.
Ma-ri heads to her new job confidently, but little does she know that she must earn her place at Baek Law Firm! Outside of work, as expected, he was not happy with his place and even more so when he realized who he had to work with. Unfortunately, he doesn't have much choice and thus, with stars in his eyes and fear in his heart, he steps into a dirty company to finally meet his prospective co-workers.
After a rather ridiculous conversation between the two and a rather dangerous fall on his part, he throws a stupid tantrum for no reason and acts tough and strong, even though he had to spend 2 months there as a probationary worker. Either way, he huffed after throwing shade at him and went straight to his grandfather to pout like a 5 year old. Either way, Hyun-mu is more mature and points his grandson in the right direction and tells him to basically do it for 2 months because he'll be able to learn a lot from him - he's the kind of lawyer they don't have. law firm.
Meanwhile, Min-hyeok returns to Korea and plans to propose to Ma-ri with a $50,000 ring. The next day when Ji-hun goes to the office, he is surprised by the cleanliness in his office and even more so when he finds Ma-ri back there. He asks why he wants to work in his office, and even though Ma-ri tries to lie, he refuses to back down to her bullying. It's interesting how they both try to look into each other's souls as they threaten each other. The tension subsides when Mu-jang gets there but then they all go into hiding when their landlady enters.
However, he's not here to get their rent, he wants to hire him for a very important dispute resolution, and even though Ma-ri helps him, for now, he still refuses to hire him. Now deciding to make a place for himself, he decides to help Mu-jang to get to the case. Meanwhile, Ji-hun in the office is curling his hair, gets a strange knock on his door, and finds young Kim Gun-woo, who wants a lawyer's help to teach his bully grandfather a lesson. Unfortunately, Kim Man-bok doesn't want their help.
But when Yeoung-bae rushes in and starts to bully Man-bok and is the bad guy to everyone, Ji-hun steps in and basically sums up his very expensive car. Cheerfully, Ji-hun tells Yeoung-bae that now that the car is wrecked, Man-bok's scratches are nowhere to be seen, and as such, it's a whole new case. Ji-hun tells Yeoung-bae to contact his lawyer to continue the case and tells Ma-ri that he is the lawyer for the case. If he can win it, then he can work with him, much to his surprise and confusion!
