May It Please the Court is a legal drama TV series directed by Kang Min-ku and starring Jung Ryeo-won, Lee Kyu-hyung, Jung Jin-young and Kim Hye-eun, with members other cast. . The series is based on the novel Byeonloneul Shijakhageksebmida by Jung Hye-jin. May It Please the Court episode 1 begins on a rainy day when a row of black cars driving down the street looks scary.

After they stopped, some important-looking people came out, including Jang Ki-do and Noh Chak-hee. They all go to Jang Sung-jin's resting place, where everyone shows respect to Byung-chun's late father. Chak-hee and Byung-chun share a tender relationship, and although she is not his daughter, they share a close bond. However, the other people around him didn't seem to be very forgiving and were somewhat dismissive and condescending to him. Later, at Jangsan Law Firm, things get tense when Chak-hee walks in.

Everyone seems to be very scared of him, and thus when he gets the emergency call to leave immediately, things are seen throughout the office! By the way, Chak-hee, on the road, bumps into a man, and it turns out that he is the man she was looking for. Back in Jangsan, as the partners talk about Chak-hee's promotion and how she's the best candidate for a corporate partner, a group of disgruntled people burst into the conference room, much to Oh Ha-ran's delight.

After the day's excitement with the swindler, he returns to the office to prove he didn't fake his timesheet. This, in turn, proves that he is actually an outstanding employee who gives his all to win a case. Interestingly, it turns out that he and his disgruntled client conspire with each other, and this is just a way to prove his mettle. However, after this little dick, the real problem comes – Chak-hee gets a call from Lee Soon-young, who is eager to talk to him.

Over the phone, she insists Chak-hee meet her and tell her that something took over her to kill her husband and she doesn't remember anything. However, Chak-hee asks her if she'll be able to afford the fees and when Soon-young tells her she can't, she asks him to get someone cheaper and never calls her. We next meet Jwa Si-baek, the somewhat relaxed public defender who swallowed birth control pills a few minutes after we met, which left the pharmacist shocked and confused.

He tracks down the pill's effects, but before we know too much about it, Chak-hee comes to his office and proposes solving the Kangsung Pharm Pill case. Si-baek is not someone who would accept the intimidation of lying down and refusing to back down from a lawsuit. However, Chak-hee makes some good points and leaves after insulting Si-baek's 3% win rate. On his way back to the office, he can't stop thinking about Joon-young's cries for help and, after some thought, decides not to go down that road.

In court Si-baek and Chak-hee face each other, and in an interesting twist, it turns out that Si-baek's client may have made a false report after his relationship with the CEO fell and caught fire. Chak-hee's defense is impressive, but it doesn't negate the fact that the pills do have side effects, and Soon-young is one of the victims. Jansang hires him to shut down his childhood friend in any way possible before the truth sees the light of day.

May It Please the Court starts off rather interestingly with our female lead being the most interesting of all the other characters. She is smart and sassy and has a certain charm to her that is quite infectious. While there's a lot going on in the first episode, it still holds your interest; The dynamics of Si-baek and Chak-hee, in particular, will prove to be quite an effective watch as they end up being pushed against each other thanks to a shocking case.
