He faints after they fall off the ledge, and when he comes to his senses, he tries to frighten her by telling her that he doesn't remember who she is. After all, they laugh together after that, but the happiness soon evaporates when she realizes that Si-baek is her neighbor. She tries to kick him out for not carpooling with him and not telling him she is his neighbor but not before he gets a thank you from her first.
The next day, when he tries to go to work, Chak-hee tells him that he'll give him a ride from that day on and that he'll give him a reason to hate him. Meanwhile, Gi-do goes to talk to Seok-gu, who desperately needs Ma-ra to help him build the mall. However, Gi-do needs help figuring out who killed Hyun-sik. On the other hand, Chi-sik comforts a distraught Dai-jae and it feels like there's more to this story than meets the eye.
At the office, Young-soo gives Chak-hee a file from the prosecutor's office mentioning that he has to handle birth registration. Chak-hee refuses to take care of it at first but relents later. This is the case of a woman who abandoned her two babies, a story that is pretty close to home for Chak-hee, whose own father also abandoned her. Meanwhile, at Kumshin Electric Ha-ra meets Seok-gu with an offer that seems good to him.
That's all, he needs to know what he knows about Gi-do's involvement in Hyun-sik's death. With an irresistible offer now in his hands, Seok-gu has a lot to think about, and so does Ha-ra. Chak-hee, on the other hand, goes to see Yu-jin, his client and tells him that he should serve his prison sentence because this is his second offence.
However, she gave him the number of a baker who would help him after he was released. She then decided to register the birth of her baby as well and worked relentlessly to do a good job, even naming the baby herself. The next morning, he went to work with a spring in his stride. However, it's clear that he doesn't really feel it because he's still calling journalists to talk about the great job he's done.
However, he's even more upset when he realizes that Si-baek left without picking him up. Si-baek has been working out of the office that day, which boils down to him saving a boy from predatory abuse under the pretext of helping him free the boy's mother. As Jun-woo sits there looking uncomfortable and frightened, Si-baek beats the man black and blue. He turns out to be Seok-gu's son, and they all end up at the police station.
Even though Si-baek is fine, Do-chang is bleeding everywhere. However, Si-baek had called him to take Jun-woo to his place and promised to tie things up at the station as soon as possible. That night, a concerned Chak-hee asks Si-baek what happened at the station, and he assures her that Do-chang has settled.
Plus, he also asks her to take on Jun-woo's case, which he flatly refuses. The next day at work, however, Si-baek tries to get Chak-hee to give in to his demands, but he still doesn't give up. Only when reporters called him for a special feature did he take an interest in the case, if only so he could get away with it. As it turns out, Jun-woo's mother wants to get her unpaid wages to pay for her son's surgery.
But sadly, since Do-chang is bullshit, apart from being a predator, he refuses to pay for it. However, when he finds a large amount of money in his wardrobe, he steals it and thus gets into trouble. Either way, he refuses to take the case because they're sure to lose it, but, Jun-woo's little gift changes things for him and next time we see them all down to changing the charges and winning the case.
In court, after a rather difficult discussion, where Chak-hee refuses to give in until the prosecutor changes the charges, and after a rather lengthy trial, they finally get the prosecutor to relent with the judge's help. After a few brief celebrations, Chak-hee accepts Si-baek's offer to thank him and ask him to treat him to pork skin and soju. On the other hand, Seok-gu beats Do-chang, blaming him for not getting rid of the kid better.
