On Monday May 22, 2023, the girl group aespa shocked their fans, MY, because they finally created a personal Instagram account. The news was confirmed directly via the messaging application, Bubble. Not only that, the members also compactly shared their first upload on Instagram which had never been posted anywhere before.
Karina and Giselle take turns posting a mirror selfie with other aespa members in different poses. Meanwhile, NingNing uploaded a video of herself on Instastory. Previously, aespa members had asked fans for Instagram username suggestions. However, fans don't think that their favorite idol will open a personal Instagram in the near future.
Especially when considering one of SM Entertainment's policies which does not allow their artists to create Instagram accounts and have to wait 7 years after debut. aespa himself admitted that all this time he had a secret personal Instagram account.
They revealed this secret in a variety show titled 'Complaint Manager HUR' which was broadcast on the SBS YouTube account 'Hanbam'. In the event, senior artist Youngji of KARA took on the role of MC and transformed into a manager and invited his juniors to convey their secret grievances to him.
