The case of feud between SM Entertainment and the three EXO members namely Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin regarding lawsuits for canceling their contracts is now heating up. Quoting from Koreaboo on Friday June 2, 2023, previously SM Entertainment responded to the demands of the 3 EXO members by mentioning the interference of a third party that incited them to leave SM Entertainment.
Today, through their attorneys, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin denied this statement. They rejected SM Entertainment's denial of the existence of other parties' influence, and accused the agency that had raised their name only as an excuse to divert public attention.
"SM Entertainment admits that there are third parties that influence their artists. That is their way of avoiding this problem, including avoiding lawsuits for artist rights. They only provide wrong information to confuse the public," explained Lee Jae Hak, Chen's attorney, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.
Previously Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin revealed that they would leave SM Entertainment by filing a contract cancellation lawsuit against the agency. In response, SM Entertainment named Big Planet Made and MC Mong's agencies as outsiders who influenced or instigated the three artists to leave SM Entertainment and join a new agency.
However, Big Planet Made has also denied SM Entertainment's accusations by saying that they have never met the three EXO members, and emphasized that MC Mong no longer has a role in their agency. As a result of the lawsuits filed by the three EXO members, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.
SM Entertainment is now facing a number of crises, including their share price which has fallen drastically, to a loss of billions of won in just a short time after the news surfaced. EXO fans also continue to voice their protests to SM Entertainment, and continue to support EXO members as their top priority. They asked SM Entertainment to bring clarity and justice to all EXO members and treat their artists well.
