The New STAYC Agency Profits, Netizens Are Surprised: They Think They've Been Paid!

Since its debut in 2020, STAYC's career has been quite successful. Through a series of hits such as So Bad to ASAP, STAYC is increasingly known and popular among K-Pop lovers. But it turns out that the company that oversees STAYC only benefited from the girl group last year.

The profits of the High UP Entertainment company were revealed from the company's annual report which was disclosed to the media. In 2021, it looks like the company's finances are not too good apart from STAYC's successful debut. It is suspected that the COVID-19 condition prevented the girl group from doing too many offline activities. 

Meanwhile, for groups that have just debuted and are gaining popularity, appearing from stage to stage offline is one of the best ways to collect coffers of money. Luckily STAYC was able to maintain their popularity until 2022 with the release of Run2U and Beautiful Monster. Thanks to that comeback and as the pandemic conditions improve, STAYC can finally perform more. 

The more you appear on stage, the more your income will flow. At the same time, the company's profits also came from the successful sales of STAYC's albums. So it's only in 2022 that High UP Entertainment's management has benefited since STAYC's debut. Due to new profits being made last year, there are allegations from netizens that so far STAYC has still not been paid for their activities in the K-Pop industry. 

Comments regarding STAYC fees have also appeared on local internet forums in South Korea. Not a few netizens are surprised because so far the company has not been profitable. Even though seeing the success of STAYC's song ASAP, they suspect that management should have made a return on investment. 

"I thought they'd been paid a long time ago!" wrote one netizen. The latest release of STAYC is also considered to have received good reception and sales are no less high. STAYC and management are also predicted to earn more in 2023. Fans also hope STAYC can perform more at local music festivals in South Korea.  

That way their income will be more stable. "It's crazy when you know that a group as big as STAYC has just been paid (because the new management is profitable)," commented another netizen. STAYC is rumored to be coming back with a song this year. They plan to release the song in August.
