After being nominated by Song Hye Kyo for the Ice Bucket Challenge, Han So Hee finally took part in the challenge. On Monday July 17, 2023, Han So Hee posted a long message on her Instagram story along with a photo and wrote, "I received a nomination from senior Song Hye Kyo to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge."
In addition, the photo that Han So Hee shared was a donation certificate from the Seungil Hope Foundation showing a donation of 10 million won in her name. However, what attracted attention were the people Han So Hee nominated. She did not mention a specific name.
"The next person I nominate is everyone who reads this post and empathizes with it. Please join in warm solidarity," said Han So Hee as quoted from KBIZoom on July 17, 2023. She also asked for donations to the Seungil Hope Foundation by posting the organization's bank account, adding that the challenge would be of great help to all of Lou Gehrig's patients.
The Ice Bucket Challenge is a relay donation campaign aimed at helping patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Everyone whose name is mentioned must throw ice water on themselves or make a donation. After that, they had to name the next three challengers to do the Ice Bucket Challenge within 24 hours.
Previously, actress Song Hye Kyo had also accepted the challenge from her former co-star in "The Glory", Lee Do Hyun. The actress donated 10 million won to the Seungil Hope Foundation. Song Hye Kyo then "challenged" Han So Hee to do the Ice Bucket Challenge.
In addition, she also nominated actor Kim Min Seok and model Shin Hyun Ji. The action was initiated by Sean from the Jinusean group on July 10, 2023 which was later joined by many other celebrities, including IU, Park Bo Gum, Mimi from Oh My Girl, Lee Joo Young, and Soyeon and (G)I-DLE' Shuhua.
