The agency that oversees the ASTRO boy group, Fantagio, announced the opening of a public memorial place in memory of the late ASTRO's Moonbin. Reporting from Allkpop on Sunday, June 4, 2023, the Fantagio agency made an official statement to fans by conveying the opening of a public memorial place for the late Moonbin.
"We sincerely sympathize with Aroha (ASTRO fans) who feel the loss of the late Moonbin and want to pay tribute to him in a longer term," said Fantagio. They continued, "After long and in-depth discussions with the family, we decided to open a public memorial for fans."
Although Moonbin is not a Buddhist, the family agreed to open a memorial place at Gukcheongsa, a Buddhist temple in Gwangju area, Gyeonggi Province. Fantagio's side said that the public memorial site will open from June 7, 2023, at 5:30 KST, and will be an open place for fans to visit the late Moonbin, and receive even a little consolation.
Don't forget that Fantagio also asked fans not to leave food at the memorial site for the late Moonbin, because the location is close to the hills and allows lots of insect attacks. However, fans can leave letters which will be collected and stored periodically. Letters from fans can be stored in the boxes provided at the memorial.
Meanwhile, the memorial for the late Moonbin, located in the Fantagio agency building, will be closed on June 6, 2023, at midnight. Exactly commemorating the 49th anniversary of the death of the late Moonbin. Gifts and letters from fans will be collected and handed over to the Moonbin family.
