South Korean actor, Lee Seung Gi, has just been hit by controversy regarding his latest concert in Atlanta, United States. According to reports circulating, the actor is said to have canceled a scheduled visit to a restaurant that sponsored his concert, to hold a fan meeting.
Responding to the circulating issues, Human Made as the agency that oversees the actor born in 1987 then spoke out on Monday September 4, 2023. According to his narrative, the agency and Seung-gi never agreed to hold a fan meeting at the restaurant. "Human Made and Lee Seung-gi never agreed to hold a fan meeting of any kind to be held at the restaurant," said Human Made, reported by Soompi.
"Relationships with restaurants becoming sponsors are carried out by local show agencies," the agency continued. In the official statement, Human Made also expressed regret towards those who tried to bring down Lee Seung-gi's name and the restaurant that was involved in the controversy.
"We express regret for the restaurant owners who call themselves representatives of all Korean-Americans who maliciously caused harm to the artist," said Human Made. Previously, the actor from the Korean drama Mouse held a concert at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta on Wednesday August 30, 2023. Before greeting his fans, Seung-gi is known to have a schedule to visit the restaurant that sponsors the concert.
However, the sponsor said the artist had canceled the performance that had been agreed upon. Human Made said that the cancellation of the visit was due to a misunderstanding. The reason is, Lee Seung-gi's visit was revealed to the public which ultimately made many people suspect that the event was a fan meeting.
"Even though there was a verbal agreement to take photos with employees, it was advertised on social media like an event," explained Human Made. "Lee Seung Gi has always been very grateful to the fans who came to his concerts and the fans who have always shown their interest and support.
