THE BOYZ member Ju Haknyeon will be taking a temporary hiatus from all IST Entertainment group activities due to health problems. Ju Haknyeon was diagnosed with disc stenosis or spinal stenosis.
Quoted from the website of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, spinal stenosis is a condition of narrowing of the spinal canal or tunnel containing nerves in the spine. The cause of this narrowing is bone growth due to calcification, tumor, or infection.
IST Entertainment announced that Ju Haknyeon recently experienced pain in the back of his body. At first it was bearable until it finally got worse until he went to the hospital and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis.
As a result of this illness, Ju Haknyeon will not be able to appear in THE BOYZ's comeback series which is scheduled to start on Monday November 20, 2023. Likewise with THE BOYZ concert which is scheduled for December.
"Ju Haknyeon has been checked regularly and received comprehensive treatment. The doctor advised Ju Haknyeon to avoid excessive movements, continue to receive medical treatment, and carry out physical rehabilitation," said management in its official statement.
"Ju Haknyeon will temporarily stop activities and focus on recovery. Therefore, he will not participate in the promotion of THE BOYZ Phantasy Pt. 2 Sixth Sense album which is scheduled for Monday November 20, 2023, as well as their encore concert," continued IST Entertainment.
Management promised to notify Ju Haknyeon's health condition if there were developments. When he is ready to return to activities with THE BOYZ again, IST Entertainment will immediately inform fans.
For now, management asks for understanding from fans and always provides support to Ju Haknyeon. At the end of their statement, IST Entertainment emphasized that their main priority is the health of their artists.
