Recently, BOYNEXTDOOR 's agency, KOZ Entertainment, apologized for the tragedy of a bodyguard pushing a fan to fall at Qingdao Jiaodong Airport, China. Through video footage that has been circulating on social media, BOYNEXTDOOR is seen walking surrounded by bodyguards.
Apart from that, there were also many fans who were taking photos of BOYNEXTDOOR at close range. Then, one of BOYNEXTDOOR's bodyguards pushed a female fan to the ground. In the video, the fan is taking pictures of the South Korean idols.
BOYNEXTDOOR members, staff and bodyguards were seen continuing to walk and did not respond to the incident. For the incident which received many comments from netizens, KOZ Entertainment released a statement of apology on Tuesday December 19, 2023.
"We apologize to fans regarding the problem triggered by the disrespectful behavior of the bodyguard who was carrying out security duties for BOYNEXTDOOR on December 16 at Qingdao Airport," wrote KOZ Entertainment, reported by News1 Korea on Tuesday December 19, 2023.
"We apologize separately to the person who was hurt directly (in the incident). For the sake of recovery, we are currently asking about his mental and physical health, as well as if there was any damage to his belongings," said KOZ Entertainment.
In its statement, the agency also said that the bodyguard who had pushed the fan away would no longer be assigned to guard BOYNEXTDOOR. Concluding its apology, KOZ Entertainment promised to continue to carry out evaluations so that similar incidents do not occur in the future.
"We have taken action to ensure that such security personnel are not assigned to our artists on the field in the future," the agency continued. BOYNEXTDOOR itself is a South Korean boy group that just debuted in 2023. This group consists of six talented boys, namely Woonhak, Leehan, Taesan, Riwoo, Sungho, and Jaehyun.
In its debut in May 2023, BOYNEXTDOOR released the single "But I Like You" along with three other songs, such as "One and Only", "Serenade", and "But Sometimes". The group led by Jaehyun has released the single album Who! on May 30, 2023. Recently, they also launched an extended play (EP) entitled "Why.." on September 4, 2023.
