Lee Sun Kyun's passing brought deep sadness to the South Korean entertainment industry. One of the actor's friends, Gong Yoo, who was also his co-star in the Korean drama series Coffee Prince which aired in 2007, paid tribute to Lee Sun Kyun.
Gong Yoo posted a black background in his latest upload to 4.1 million followers on Instagram @gongyoo_official. In the photo caption, Gong Yoo only wrote the date of Lee Sun Kyun's funeral, namely 20231229. There was no explanation regarding his memories with Lee Sun Kyun or photos of the late Parasite film star.
In the comments column, netizens linked it to the news of Lee Sun Kyun's departure. "Those who loved the drama Coffee Prince experienced heartbreak. Today I hope the actors in the drama are okay and know that they are loved. I hug you with my soul, dear Gong Yoo," wrote the account @cardri1.

According to local media reports, several fellow actors who attended the funeral home included Lee Jung Jae, Jung Woo Sung, Kim Nam Gil, Im Siwan, and Jeon Doyeon. There are also Lee Sung Min, Ru Jun Yeol, Yoo Yoon Seok, Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Jaemyung, and Go Kyung Pyo.
Lee Sun Kyun died at the age of 48 after being found dead in a car in Seoul. He is suspected of committing suicide. This death occurred one day after undergoing a 19-hour examination regarding the drug case involving his name. Lee Sun Kyun leaves behind a wife and two children from their marriage since 2009.
