Song Kang, recently announced his upcoming military enlistment date. Namoo Actors as the agency that oversees the 29 year old actor uploaded a statement regarding Song Kang's military service on Thursday February 29, 2024. In the statement, Song Kang is ready to begin military service on April 2, 2024 and will join as an active soldier in the Army.
"Hello, this is Namoo Actors. We express our deepest gratitude to the fans who always give their love to actor Song Kang, and this letter is a notification regarding Song Kang's military service. Song Kang will enlist as an active soldier in the Army on Tuesday , April 2, 2024," wrote Namoo Actors.
Continuing the announcement, Naamo Actors added that there was no official farewell event held by Song Kang with fans. Fans are also asked not to visit the recruitment training center location to avoid crowds and traffic jams that disturb the public.
"There will be no official event held when he enters the recruit training center, and he will register personally to prevent accidents due to traffic jams at the location, so we ask for your understanding," said the agency. Song Kang first made his acting debut in the romantic comedy drama entitled The Liar and His Lover which aired in 2017.
In the drama, Song Kang plays a supporting actor named Baek Jin-woo. In the same year, Song Kang starred again in a drama entitled Man in the Kitchen with Choi Soo-young and On Joo-wan. He also appeared as one of the hosts for the music program Inkigayo with Jung Chae-yeon and SEVENTEEN's Mingyu from February to October 2018.
His name skyrocketed after Song Kang successfully starred in the romance drama, Love Alarm, after auditioning which was attended by more than 900 actors. In this drama, Song Kang competes with Kim So-hyun and Jung Ga-ram. He then starred in other dramas, such as Sweet Home, Nevertheless, and My Demon, which has only been broadcast since 2023.
