NewJeans has just announced that they will donate all their proceeds from performing at a university festival in South Korea to those in need. Quoting from Allkpop on Sunday May 26, 2024, the ADOR agency which oversees the girl group NewJeans said that all wages or fees for NewJeans' appearances at a number of South Korean university festivals will go into the donation project.

NewJeans, who have just made a comeback with their latest single album, has performed at a music festival at Korea University on May 25, 2024. Next they will perform with a total of 7 appearances at university festival performances until May 31, 2024. Meanwhile, this is not the first time NewJeans has carried out charity activities.

Since their debut, Minji and friends have provided support for deaf people who have financial difficulties. NewJeans is one of the largest donors with a total of 99 million won  in donations in 2023. On the other hand, in the midst of the conflict between the CEO of ADOR, Min Hee Jin, and the company label HYBE Labels, NewJeans continued to make a comeback with a strong performance.

Shortly after the release of the single album 'How Sweet' on May 24 2024, the two singles in it, namely the main song 'How Sweet' and the b-side track 'Bubble Gum' successfully dominated the charts both in South Korea and globally. This proves the strength and popularity of NewJeans which is not affected by the ongoing conflict.

On the other hand, NewJeans has brought back a hip-hop feel with the release of their latest song 'How Sweet'. Not only in terms of easy listening music, but also an old school style, as well as an energetic dance performance, bringing a refreshing touch in the midst of heated conflict.

Fans continue to provide their support to NewJeans, and hope that the ongoing conflict will not affect their comeback performance and the mental health of their members. Meanwhile, after the comeback with the latest single 'How Sweet', NewJeans will also make their debut in Japan, by releasing singles entitled 'Supernatural' and 'Right Now' on June 21, 2024.
