ADOR has announced its plans to take strong legal action against malicious posts and comments directed at NewJeans. ADOR released an official statement asking fans to submit reports regarding malicious comments and posts about NewJeans members.
"We consistently monitor various communities regarding malicious comments, ill-intentioned viral marketing, slander, insults and defamation by spreading baseless information about NewJeans," wrote ADOR as quoted by Soompi June 5, 2024.
They continued, "In particular, we are aware of a recent increase in anonymous malicious posts targeting members. Therefore, we are currently preparing legal action including civil and criminal charges." ADOR further stated that it would not tolerate or leniency in punishment that would be given to the perpetrators of this act.
In addition, ADOR plans to use all means to track down malicious posts about NewJeans in anonymous communities that are generally difficult to detect. If any fans happen to see bad posts or comments about NewJeans, ADOR asks to report them to ADOR's official email hotline for legal matters, namely protect@ador.world.
These efforts prove that ADOR ensures that the rights of NewJeans members are protected. Meanwhile, NewJeans seems to be quite affected by the conflict between HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. Apart from the proliferation of bad comments on the internet, sales of the group's albums have also reportedly decreased.
Initial sales of NewJeans' new album were reportedly halved compared to the previous album. Some feared that the collapse of the fandom following a prolonged management dispute might have contributed to the decline in album sales.
An official from the music industry said that HYBE's internal disputes may have weakened the unity of the fandom. However, because the music market is going through a transition period, it is difficult to determine the cause of the decline in album sales.
Meanwhile, NewJeans recently made a comeback with the release of 'How Sweet'. 'How Sweet' is a single containing the new songs 'How Sweet' and 'Bubble Gum', as well as instrumental versions of these two songs. They plan to debut in Japan with the single 'Supernatural' on June 21, 2024.
