BTS's agency, BigHit Music, promised to change the requirements for the fan meeting event attended by BTS' Jin on June 13, 2024. BigHit Music did this after receiving a number of criticisms from fans who were called unclear.
The agency later issued a statement apologizing for failing to consider detailed requirements for the event. "We apologize for the unclear notification in advance and our failure to set out the application criteria in detail beforehand," the agency wrote via Weverse on Monday June 3, 2024.
His party also promised to immediately revise the criteria and announce it again via Weverse before the event is held. "We will revise the terms to include those who purchased after the offline event notification was uploaded on the Weverse Shop details page as well as those who have previously purchased the album from Weverse Shop," he continued.
Previously, the agency announced the announcement of BTS' Jin presence at the BTS Festa 2024 event which was held at the Seoul Sports Complex on June 13, 2024. The event was even planned at the suggestion of Jin who wanted to spend time with ARMY or BTS fans after he completed his mandatory military service.
The event will be enlivened by a "hug event" for 1,000 lucky fans, so the agency has set special conditions for ARMY who want to get the opportunity to hug the idol. BigHit previously provided conditions only for fans who had purchased Proof and Solo member albums from June 2 at 23.59 to June 6, 2024.
Albums that can be purchased include Proof, The Astronaut, Indigo, Face, D-Day, Jack in the Box, Layover, Golden, Hope on the Street Volume 2, and Right Place, Wrong Person. However, these conditions apparently sparked harsh criticism from fans, especially those who had purchased the album before the time period was announced.
In fact, the agency said that fans who buy a lot of albums will have a big chance of winning the opportunity to be hugged by Jin. ARMY also considered this action to be a forced practice of purchasing albums. Fans think this means they have to make excessive purchases, which can raise concerns regarding sales strategies.
