It has been confirmed that former T-ara member Ahreum has been sent for prosecution on charges of child abuse. Reporting from Allkpop on Monday June 3, 2024, the Gwangmyeong Police Station located in Gyeonggi Province announced that they had recently sent Ahreum to the prosecution on charges of child abuse and neglect, as well as kidnapping and luring minors.
Ahreum's mother, identified as Ms. A, was also sent for prosecution on charges of kidnapping and luring a minor. Before she was charged in this case, Ahreum herself was previously known to have accused her ex-husband, identified as Mr B, of abusing their child and had filed a complaint with the police.
Ahreum's ex-husband (Mr. B) had also filed a complaint against Ahreum for alleged child abuse around February to March. After conducting an investigation, the police concluded that there was evidence of child abuse by Ahreum and forwarded the case to the prosecutor's office. Ahreum and her mother have reportedly been ordered to maintain a temporary restraining order against their children.
Meanwhile, Mr B was recently acquitted of the charges related to the case against him. A police official stated, "After considering various circumstances comprehensively, we concluded that there were charges against Ahreum and her mother and moved forward with the case."
