The Japanese manufacturer, Honda, has reportedly reached an agreement to extend their contract with one of its racers, Joan Mir. Some time ago, Joan Mir was in turmoil regarding his future in MotoGP. This Honda racer's contract will expire at the end of the 2024 season, but until then there have been no offers from other teams.

It cannot be denied that his performance during his time with Honda really had a big influence on a team's view of him, an achievement that was not much might make other teams think twice about recruiting this Spanish racer. As a result of this problem, Mir revealed that he did not know what his future in MotoGP would be like.

However, according to the Motorsport page, Honda and Mir have reportedly reached an agreement to continue their collaboration. Even though there has been no official confirmation, this news has spread everywhere. No half-hearted, the contract will be continued until 2026.

Before joining Honda, Mir was known to have debuted in MotoGP with Suzuki in 2019 and won the world title in his second season. In the 2023 season, Mir decided to move to Honda, becoming a replacement for Jorge Lorenzo who retired at that time. With this team, Mir has not once climbed the podium or achieved pole position.

In fact, Mir and Honda's contract extension has two different impacts, the positive impact is that Mir will continue to compete in MotoGP, at least for the next two years and can develop the RC213V motorbike. However, this also had a negative impact, especially on Joan Mir himself.

It should be remembered that he has already been world champion in the Moto3 and MotoGP classes, from this we can see that Mir is definitely not an ordinary racer. It's a shame that Mir can't be competitive because he's in a lower team with a motorbike that doesn't support his talent.

Maybe he is in the same boat as Marc Marquez, a racer with good talent but stuck with an inadequate motorbike. If it is true that Mir and Honda have extended their contract, then Mir must continue his struggle to revive the performance of the Japanese manufacturer's motorbike. If you were Mir, do you think you would feel happy or sad when you were under contract with Honda again?
