NewJeans' Minji expressed her support for ADOR amid the turmoil with its parent company, HYBE. She criticized Minji's dark period as a trainee at HYBE's subsidiary, Source Music. The confession was part of an interview between the media Sports World and the parents of NewJeans members.

In the interview, Minji's mother revealed Minji's journey as a Source Music trainee before being recruited by Min Hee-jin and debuting with NewJeans. Minji's mother said she was banned from visiting Minji for a year and was shocked by the appearance of the dormitory when she first visited.

She said she saw mold and cockroaches roaming around the dormitory. "Minji first became a trainee at Source Music after moving to Seoul alone at the age of 13," Minji's mother told Sports World via Naver  on Wednesday July 24, 2024.

Criticism also emerged regarding the duration of training, saying that Minji was required to train until 2 a.m. every day without rest. Minji's mother also criticized Source Music for not providing clarity regarding her daughter's debut. She claimed that Minji could only wait without a concrete plan.

This confession is completely contrary to Dispatch's report which said that Source Music had prepared a debut plan for Minji. The statement continued, saying that the trainee period at Source Music also interfered with school time. The agency was even said to have asked Minji to drop out of school to focus on training.

In addition to Minji's mother, the parents of other NewJeans members, such as Haerin, Danielle, and Hyein also revealed press statements with the same bias. Meanwhile, Hanni's parents reportedly handed over their voting rights to the parents of the four members because they are still in Australia.

The turmoil between ADOR and HYBE has been going on since late April 2024 when HYBE conducted an internal audit after Min Hee-jin allegedly wanted to take over ADOR and NewJeans from HYBE as the holder of 80 percent of ADOR shares. The conflict is heating up and has also dragged in several other HYBE subsidiaries, such as Belift Lab and Source Music.
