Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee have confirmed their appearance in the drama 'My Youth'! On August 21, 2024, production company HighZium Studio announced that the two actors have been cast as the male and female leads in the upcoming drama.
'My Youth' is a sentimental romance story between Sun Woo Hae (played by Song Joong Ki), who started an ordinary life later than others, and Sung Je Yeon (played by Chun Woo Hee), who had to destroy the peace of her first love for her own success. Sun Woo Hae and Sung Je Yeon were each other's first loves who supported them through the darkest times in their lives.
The two reunite after 10 years and once again portray the image of youth. Song Joong Ki plays Sun Woo Hae, a novelist and flower seller who barely escapes the turmoil of life. He was a child actor who shone in his time, but lost his light due to the greed of adults and is now forgotten.
While living a peaceful second life in the different form of an actor, Sung Je Yeon, who harbors his past, appears and reminds him of the reasons for his life that he had forgotten. Chun Woo Hee plays Sung Je Yeon, the team leader of Phil Entertainment, who is driven by reality and only seeks success.
He grew up in a wealthy family without any worries, but his family suddenly fell apart and now he lives harder than anyone else. To achieve his goal, he finds Sun Woo Hae and destroys her peace, but as he becomes entangled with her, Sung Je Yeon also changes as he faces his innocent past.
Meanwhile, 'My Youth' is a work directed by Director Lee Sang Yeop, who is known for his subtle and sensual direction in dramas such as 'Yumi's Cells', 'Familiar Wife', and 'Shopping King Louis'. Writer Park Si Hyun, who received positive reviews for the drama 'Run On', will write the script. Meanwhile, the drama is scheduled to air next year.
