Jin Se Yeon recently revealed the difficulties she faced while filming the latest Korean drama titled ' Bad Memory Eraser '. Carrying the romantic genre, 'Bad Memory Eraser' tells the story of Lee Goon (played by Kim Jaejoong), a former talented tennis player who loses his confidence after suffering an injury.
Thanks to a memory eraser at a brain research center, Lee Goon successfully erases his memory and is reborn with extremely high self-confidence. However, Lee Goon mistakes the psychiatrist at the brain research center, Kyung Joo Yeon (played by Jin Se Yeon), for his first love. Jin Se Yeon also revealed the efforts she made to get into her character.
She focused on reducing the awkwardness of her character's dynamic nature, thus creating natural acting. "While working, Kyung Joo Yeon is rational and firm to the point where she may seem harsh and cold. However, she is awkward when it comes to love. I wanted to portray this lovable character in a multidimensional way," said Jin Se Yeon as quoted by Soompi on August 8, 2024.
The actress continued, "I focused most on making sure that the transitions between her different sides seemed natural, reducing the gap between these traits." According to Jin Se Yeon, if her acting is not done carefully, it can make her seem like a different character. "My biggest hope is that Kyung Joo Yeon's journey in learning about love will be captivating," she added.
Even though she played her character perfectly, it doesn't mean that Jin Se Yeon didn't face any difficulties while filming this drama. "There was a time when we went to the sea to film in winter. The weather was cold, the wind was blowing hard, and I had to convey sad emotions, so there were so many aspects I needed to pay attention to," said Jin Se Yeon.
He added, "Also, I had to slap Jaejoong's cheeks, so I was really worried because getting slapped on a cold winter day must be really painful." According to Jin Se Yeon, this drama is a healing drama that helps heal the trauma and anxiety of the audience. Meanwhile, Korean drama 'Bad Memory Eraser' airs every Friday and Saturday at 21:40 KST.
