Kim Jaejoong recently revealed how he got into character in the Korean drama ' Bad Memory Eraser '. Carrying the romance genre, 'Bad Memory Eraser' tells the story of Lee Goon (played by Kim Jaejoong), a former talented tennis player who loses his confidence after suffering an injury.
Lee Goon's life changed drastically thanks to using a memory eraser that successfully erased his memories, successfully making him reborn with very high self-confidence. However, due to memory manipulation at the brain research center and using a memory eraser, Lee Goon mistakes the psychiatrist at the brain research center, Kyung Joo Yeon (played by Jin Se Yeon), for his first love.
Kim Jaejoong also revealed the efforts he made to get into character. "I had to manage the tension that arose significantly. Depending on the scene I was filming, I had to portray Lee Goon before and after losing his memory several times a day, which was quite challenging," said Kim Jaejoong as quoted by Soompi August 8, 2024.
He added, "I had to change everything, from my posture to my gaze, facial expressions and even the way I spoke." Starting from episode 2, Lee Goon's character appears with overflowing confidence after using the memory eraser, and this confident attitude is the charm of his character.
Even though he played his character perfectly, it doesn't mean that Kim Jaejoong didn't encounter difficulties when acting. "While playing the dark side of Lee Goon, I shed almost as many tears as I breathed. He is a very heartbreaking character," said the actor. He added, "The emotional scene with Lee Shin (Lee Jong Won) on the Han River bridge also took a very long time to film.
It was a very difficult shoot, both emotionally and because of the cold weather." According to Kim Jaejoong, 'Bad Memory Eraser' will be fun to watch because the storyline is very unpredictable. Meanwhile, the Korean drama 'Bad Memory Eraser' was released on August 2 and airs every Friday and Saturday at 21.40 KST.
