Comedian and presenter Steve Harvey is getting a biopic from Objectively Good Media. The film is titled Seventy-Two , a nod to the 72-hour period Harvey faced before his 1993 Apollo Theatre performance—a performance that would prove to be a turning point in his career.

Quoting Deadline's report on Thursday August 29, 2024, the film project is produced by Mohamed Kheir, Matthew R. Cooper, Steve Harvey, and Thabiti Stephens. The film's development process is still in its early stages, so it will take quite a long time before it is officially released.

The film will highlight one of the defining moments in Steve Harvey's career, his iconic performance at the Apollo Theatre in 1993, which set him apart from other comedians. In that 72-hour period, Steve Harvey, who had previously left his job in sales at the age of 26 to pursue comedy, became the public figure we know today.

In addition, the film will also depict Harvey's life journey, including the various challenges he had to face to achieve success as he is now. The discourse on making a Steve Harvey biopic has actually been around for a long time, but this is the first time it has been truly realized.

The idea was first proposed by Objectively Good Media (OGM) and then presented to Steve Harvey. After reading the script, Harvey gave the green light for the production of the project. " I've been reluctant to make a movie about my life for a long time, until I read the concept for Seventy-Two.

It focuses on one of the most difficult moments in my life and career, and shows the world that hope is never truly lost. Just wait until you see what we do with this ," said Steve Harvey. OGM also released a statement, " Acquiring the rights to tell this story is a great honor.

Steve Harvey's ability to transform challenges into inspiring accomplishments is nothing short of impressive. Seventy-Two will showcase the resilience and determination that shaped the defining moments of his life. We look forward to sharing this powerful narrative with audiences around the world ."
