Baekhyun's agency has responded to the controversy surrounding the artist's indoor smoking incident. On Monday September 16, 2024, a video showing Baekhyun smoking a vape inside a restaurant in Macau gained attention online.
The EXO member was seen chatting in a corner while smoking, along with several people who were believed to be staff members. In response, Baekhyun's agency, INB100, issued an official apology, saying "We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable due to the indoor smoking controversy involving our artist, Baekhyun."
"At the time, Baekhyun and our staff were completely unaware that e-cigarettes were banned in Macau. During a meal with the staff after performing in Macau, Baekhyun unknowingly used a vape as the conversation deepened." The agency added, "Baekhyun feels deeply sorry for disappointing many fans due to his careless actions."
"Both Baekhyun and our company will be more vigilant to ensure that such incidents do not happen again, and we promise not to disappoint our fans in the future. We will also strive to act more maturely." "Once again, we sincerely apologize for causing concern and inconvenience. We are truly sorry."
