South Korean actor Im Siwan has reached out to help disaster victims in South Korea. According to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association on Wednesday September 11, 2024, Im Siwan donated 30 million won.
This donation will be used for the 'Continuing Care Project', which is a project that supports those who are experiencing difficulties for economic reasons even after disasters such as floods.
Hope Bridge selects support areas based on the extent of disaster damage, and confirms support recipients through recommendations and on-site inspections by local authorities. Selected households are visited four times a year to provide food, medicine, and daily necessities.
Im Siwan said, "I decided to donate to help those suffering from the disaster even though it wasn't enough. I will continue to work to help my neighbors affected by the disaster recover from their daily lives."
This isn’t Im Siwan’s first act of kindness. Starting with a donation to help neighbors affected by the Gangwon forest fires in 2019, he has supported neighbors affected by disasters big and small, such as typhoons, forest fires, and the Turkish earthquake, every year.
