The Weeknd has announced a new album titled Hurry Up Tomorrow. The upcoming album will also conclude The Weeknd's trilogy of albums following After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022).
The announcement regarding the album title was delivered by the musician via social media by uploading a video of scrolling text containing statements with references to The Weeknd's song lyrics. "The thing that once made me invincible has failed me on the world stage.
New trauma has arrived," read a statement from @theweeknd's tweet on X (or Twitter) on Wednesday September 4, 2024. "When this day is over, I will find out who I really am. HURRY UP TOMORROW," the running text continued.
This album is presented as the conclusion of the trilogy that carries the theme of self-existence, the same as the theme in the teaser video for Hurry Up Tomorrow. "This album represents the creative pinnacle of this project," said the musician.
"It serves as the third and final chapter built on existential and referential themes as seen in the latest visionary teaser that has fans excited for this series finale," he continued. Until now, the musician whose real name is Abel Tesfaye has not provided detailed information regarding the release schedule of his new album.
He has not even given a leak of the release of a new single before the official album is released. Hurry Up Tomorrow will be the sixth album in his career in the music industry. The Weeknd began his career thanks to the release of the album Kiss Land (2012) followed by Beauty Behind the Madness (2015).
The Weeknd gained rapid popularity after the release of the album Starboy (2016) with the single titled Die For You. He went on to release other hit albums, such as After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022). The Weeknd is also busy with concert schedules in several countries.
He is also scheduled to hold a concert titled The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy as the opening act for his Halloween Horror Nights attraction at Universal Studios. In October 2024, The Weeknd officially ends his After Hours Til the Dawn tour with a concert in Australia, namely in Melbourne and Sydney.
