One Direction uploaded an open letter following news of Liam Payne's death via their latest upload on Instagram on Friday October 18, 2024 Indonesian time. They admitted that they still wanted to take time to grieve amidst condolences from fans and stories of memories from when Liam Payne was still alive.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of Liam's passing. In time, and when everyone is able, there will be more to say. However, for now, we will take the time to grieve and come to terms with the loss of our much-loved brother," One Direction wrote in the caption.

One of the members of One Direction was reported to have died after falling from the balcony of a third-floor hotel room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Liam died on the spot due to serious injuries so he did not receive life-saving measures.

"At this time, our thoughts are with his family, friends and the fans who loved him along with us. We will miss him dearly. We love you, Liam," the letter, signed by Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry, read. On the other hand, the One Direction members also revealed their memories with Liam Payne through their respective Instagrams.

"I want you to know that if Bear (Liam Payne's son) needs me, I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories about what a great dad he was. I wish I had the chance to say goodbye and tell you one more time how much I love you," Louis Tomlinson wrote.

Zayn Malik also wrote about many stories they shared together. He said that Payne was a logical and stubborn person which sometimes caused the two to fight. "I lost a brother when you left us and I can't tell you what I would do to just hug you one more time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I love you and respect you so much," he continued.

Recently, Harry Styles and Niall Horan also did not fail to upload their condolences via their personal Instagram accounts. Styles said it was a joy to be able to make others feel happy with Liam Payne.
