The film 'Green Lantern' is back on Trans TV Cinema. This fantasy genre film airs on Wednesday December 11, 2024, precisely at 21.00 WIB. Released in 2011, 'Green Lantern' is a film directed by Martin Campbell. He previously worked on 'The Mask of Zorro' (1998) and 'Casino Royale' (2006).
'Green Lantern' stars Ryan Reynolds as the main star. Also appearing are his wife, Blake Lively and Mark Strong. Despite its stunning visual effects and the potential of its original source material, 'Green Lantern' received a lot of negative criticism. Critics considered the script weak, the characters underdeveloped, and the story lacking in emotional impact.
However, for superhero fans, the film still has its own charm, especially in showing the richly imagined world of the Green Lantern Corps. The story begins when Abin Sur (played by Temuera Morrison), a member of the Green Lantern Corps, is badly injured while fighting an evil entity called Parallax. Before he dies, he sends his power ring to Earth to find a worthy replacement.
The ring chooses Hal Jordan, an ordinary human known for his courage and recklessness, despite his many doubts about himself. After receiving the ring, Hal is taken to the planet Oa, the headquarters of the Green Lantern Corps, to be trained by senior members such as Tomar-Re (voiced by Geoffrey Rush) and Kilowog (voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan).
There, he meets Sinestro (Mark Strong), one of the most respected members of the Green Lantern Corps, but one who harbors hidden ambitions. Meanwhile, a greater threat emerges when Parallax, an entity that embodies fear, begins attacking planets across the galaxy.
On Earth, Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard), a scientist exposed to Parallax's energy, is turned evil and gains dangerous telekinetic powers. Hal must learn to overcome his fears, accept his responsibilities as a Green Lantern, and protect Earth from destruction.
