The director and cast of the film " Dark Nuns " held a press conference at CGV I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on, Monday December 16, 2024. Present at the event were director Kwon Hyuk Jae and the cast, namely Song Hye Kyo, Jeon Yeo Bin, Lee Jin Wook and Moon Woo Jin, to introduce the film to the public.

On that occasion, the players shared their experiences about the roles they played in the film. One of them who stole the attention was of course Hye Kyo, where she played a strong-willed and unstoppable nun named Yunia. Who would have thought that because of her role, Hye Kyo admitted that she often had nightmares.

Yunia herself is a character with a sincere heart behind her cold appearance and temperament. She is also known to never give up and is a strong figure, willing to jump into danger despite opposition from the church and those around her who threaten to provide catharsis.

Hye Kyo, who received widespread praise for her stunning performance in the global hit series " The Glory ," had her own reasons for taking part in the film. Although she actually felt burdened by the role, which was not easy to play. "I received so much love that I felt pressured about what my next project would be.

Appearing in a genre work was fun and interesting to me. After that, I found myself leaning more towards genre works when reading the script," said Hye Kyo. Calling “Dark Nuns” a special destiny, Hye Kyo expressed her excitement, “I look forward to seeing a new side of myself through this role.”

When MC Park Kyung Lim asked if she aspires to become a “Genre Goddess,” Hye Kyo replied, “I still have a long way to go, but I will work hard to earn that title.” Furthermore, Hye Kyo also shared the difficulties she felt while playing the character of an exorcist nun.

One of the challenges for her was memorizing prayers which was not easy. "It was very difficult to memorize the prayers. I had to memorize them while taking a shower and washing dishes because I had to control my emotions. Like all acting, this project was also difficult and challenging," he said.

Hye Kyo cannot deny that acting in this film is very draining emotionally and physically. She even often experiences nightmares in her sleep because of the role. "I think the role of an exorcist is the most difficult, both emotionally and physically. I also had a lot of nightmares," she continued.

Meanwhile, "Dark Nuns" itself is a film that depicts the story of people who participate in a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. This is a sequel to director Jang Jae Hyun's film " The Priests " which was released in 2015, which is considered to have opened a new chapter in Korean occultism by mobilizing 5.44 million viewers.
