Netflix's latest Korean drama titled True Lesson (working title) has announced its 4 main casts. They are Kim Moo Yeol, Lee Sung Min, Jin Ki Joo and Pyo Ji-hoon. Quoting from Soompi on Thursday March 20, 2025, Netflix confirmed that Lee Sung Min, Jin Ki Joo, and Pyo Ji-hoon will join Kim Moo Yeol in the cast of this drama. 

Kim Moo Yeol was previously announced as the main character. This drama is an adaptation of a webtoon of the same title, 'True Lesson' centers around the fictional Teachers' Rights Protection Agency, a government agency formed to restore teachers' authority.

The drama will be directed by Hong Jong Chan, known for 'Mr. Plankton' and 'Juvenile Justice' on Netflix, while the script will be written by Lee Nam Kyu of 'Daily Dose of Sunshine' on Netflix and 'The Light in Your Eyes' on JTBC.

1. Kim Moo Yeol


Kim Moo Yeol will play Na Hwa Jin, an inspector at the Teachers' Rights Protection Agency. Using his own methods, he handles various school-related issues, bringing a sharp sense of justice and satisfaction to viewers. Praising the team’s dedication, Kim Moo Yeol shared, “Everyone’s enthusiasm was amazing. 

Before diving into the challenging topic of education, we read the script together, and it reminded me once again that I’m working with colleagues I can trust and rely on. It was an inspiring start that made me even more excited for the story we’ll be creating together.”

2. Lee Sung Min


Lee Sung Min plays Choi Kang Seok, the minister of education who founded the Agency for the Protection of Teachers' Rights. Expressing his excitement, Lee Sung Min said, “I was really impressed by writer Lee Nam Kyu’s previous works, so I had high expectations for this one as well. 

This is my second time working with director Hong Jong Chan after ‘Juvenile Justice,’ and I have a lot of confidence in him.” The veteran actor further expressed, “Most importantly, I am very happy to be able to collaborate with talented actors. I will do my best to deliver a great production to the audience.”

3. Jin Ki Joo


Jin Ki Joo plays Im Han Lim, a former Special Forces soldier who becomes an inspector at the Teachers' Rights Protection Agency, showing a new side to his acting. “I was drawn to the script because it was very rooted in current reality,” said Jin Ki Joo. 

“Adding the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency as a fantasy element makes you think about the issues we need to address together. The script reading felt very lively, making me excited and looking forward to my journey as Im Han Lim,” said the actress, who was born in 1989.

4. Pyo Ji-hoon


Pyo Ji-hoon plays Bong Geun Dae, a brilliant officer at the Teachers' Rights Protection Agency, which brings new intrigue to his character. Sharing his enthusiasm, 
Pyo Ji-hoon said, "Watching 'Juvenile Justice,' I was amazed at how powerful a drama can convey a social message. 

I'm very happy to be able to work with director Hong Jong Chan in 'True Lesson' and collaborate with Lee Sung Min, a senior I admire, as well as Kim Moo Yeol and Jin Ki Joo - actors I've wanted to work with for a long time." He added, "I feel pressure and nervousness because it is a highly anticipated project with a deep message and an amazing production team. 

However, I will do my best to learn as much as possible on set and contribute to creating a great drama." Meanwhile, the Korean drama True Lesson is scheduled to begin filming in the first half of 2025, with the broadcast schedule currently still under discussion. Stay tuned for further information!
