Park Sung Hoon is reflecting on his career and life in the present moment in a new pictorial and interview with Marie Claire Korea. The feature, titled ‘Silent Portrait,’ captures the actor in a series of understated yet powerful images.

In the accompanying interview, Park Sung Hoon shared his candid thoughts on gaining global recognition for his role as ‘Hyun Joo’ in the hit series Squid Game Season 3. “It feels like I had a brief but exciting dream and then woke up,” he said of his newfound fame.

“I’m grateful every time I’m recognized overseas, but my daily life hasn’t changed much. Right now, I’m focused on a new project.” He also spoke about how acting has changed him as a person.

“My capacity for acceptance has broadened through the process of understanding and empathizing with characters different from myself,” he explained. When asked what drives him to continue acting, he admitted, “I felt like I wasn’t good at anything, so I tried harder, and now I truly love acting.”

He added, “The catharsis I feel when everyone on set holds their breath and concentrates is immense… I believe an actor is someone who learns until they die.” Park Sung Hoon is currently filming the new JTBC drama Efficient Meeting of Unmarried Men and Women.
