Bon Appétit, Your Majesty tells the story of Yeon Ji Young (Yoona), a French chef with a cheerful and determined personality. One day, she wins a French cooking competition, but somehow finds herself transported to the Joseon era.
She happens to be serving food to King Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min) of Joseon. He is the worst tyrant who holds absolute power. He possesses an extraordinary sense of taste, able to detect differences in food even when the weather changes.
Coincidentally, King Lee Heon tries Yeon Ji Young's food and likes what she makes. King Lee Heon decides to take Yeon Ji Young to the royal palace and have her cook for him. Meanwhile, Kang Mok Ju (Kang Han Na) is King Lee Heon's concubine.
