GOT7's Yugyeom has announced his plans to enlist in the military, according to his agency, AOMG. It was revealed that GOT7's Yugyeom has been accepted by the South Korean Military Administration as a 'specialist soldier' and will be carrying out his mandatory military service in the military band.
"To fulfill his obligations, Yugyeom will begin his mandatory military service on September 29, 2025, and will undergo basic military training before carrying out his duties in the military band," AOMG wrote in their official statement, quoted on Sunday August 24, 2025.
AOMG then did not provide details about GOT7 Yugyeom's military enlistment ceremony to avoid causing excessive crowds because the event was also attended by other prospective soldiers and their families. In addition, AOMG also emphasized that they will not hold a separate event for fans who want to see off GOT7's Yugyeom to carry out his military service.
"We will not be revealing the schedule or location to prevent any incidents due to crowding. Therefore, we ask fans not to attend the enlistment ceremony, and we will not be holding a separate event on Yugyeom's enlistment day," AOMG stated. Nevertheless, AOMG assured that they will fully support Yugyeom, who will soon be enlisting in the military.
They also thanked the fans who have consistently supported the GOT7 member. "We ask fans to continue to give love and support to Yugyeom, who will return after completing his military service. AOMG will also continue to provide full support during his military service," AOMG concluded.
