Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce officially announced their engagement and upcoming wedding. The news came via the musician's personal Instagram account on Wednesday August 27, 2025. The two are engaged after dating for the past two years.

This happy news was conveyed directly by the musician and athlete couple via a post from both of them on Instagram with several photos of their engagement. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married ," Swift and Kelce captioned a joint Instagram post.

According to Rolling Stone, several photos of the couple show them standing surrounded by flowers and foliage. Kelce proposed with a ring designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, featuring an old mine brilliant cut. Kelce and Swift also kept their relationship secret from the media and public during their initial relationship.

However, the Kansas City Chiefs football player has never been shy about showing his affection for the 1989-born musician." It all started when Travis was really excited about me on his podcast, and I thought it was so cool," Swift told Time in early December.

"We started seeing each other more often after that. So we actually had a lot of time together that wasn't shared with the public, and I'm grateful for that, because we were able to really get to know each other," said the Lover singer.

Many people initially assumed that Swift's appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs' game against the Chicago Bears last September was their first date. In fact, their relationship was already quite mature at that point.  "When I showed up to that first game, we were already a couple.

We wouldn't have launched our first date in public like we did then," Swift said. Although Swift often flaunts her relationship affairs through her song lyrics, Kelce seems comfortable facing the media spotlight that wants to know about the relationship between the two famous people. "Obviously, I've never dated someone who has this much of an aura... I never expected it.

But at the same time, I'm not running away from it," she told the Wall Street Journal Magazine. Taylor Swift herself has now begun to get used to her relationships being constantly in the spotlight and public consumption. While some of her ex-boyfriends are used to fame, others aren't.

In 2023, just before the official start of the Eras Tour, her six-year relationship with Hollywood actor Joe Alwyn officially ended. The two were previously known for being very private about their relationship, having been together for nine months before their relationship was officially revealed to local media.

However, years of experience have not taught Swift not to care about who is watching, which lyrics are being analyzed, or what other people think when a relationship ends. Upon hearing this news, Swifties, a group of fans, immediately expressed their joy on social media.

Many expressed surprise and expressed hope that the musician would soon marry her lover. On the other hand, Swift is also preparing to release a new album entitled The Life of A Showgirl on October 3, 2025. The album will consist of 12 new songs for her fans around the world.
