Netflix's K-Pop film, Demon Hunters, has once again achieved a new milestone. The platform's collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation broke viewership records, garnering 300 million views throughout its run.
K-Pop Demon Hunters was first available on the streaming service on June 20, 2025. Entering its 90th day, the film, which features the fictional K-Pop groups HUNTR/X and Saja Boys, has been watched 314,200,000 times according to Netflix data.
K-Pop's Demon Hunters achieved this milestone on Wednesday (September 17th). Its stream time surpassed 523.6 million hours as of the same date. K-Pop Demon Hunters is the first Netflix original film to break this record.
It surpassed other Netflix originals, including Red Notice (#2), Carry-On (#3), and Don't Look Up (#4). There is a gap of approximately 70 million total streams between K-Pop Demon Hunters and Red Notice.
Not only on the Netflix Global chart, but the K-Pop hit Demon Hunters also shone on the American Billboard music chart. The film, starring Ahn Hyo Seop, made it onto the list of seven animated films whose soundtracks have topped the Billboard 200 chart.
Reported by Billboard, there are only 7 animated films whose soundtracks have ever topped the Billboard 200 chart. 5 of them are Disney films: The Lion King (1994), Pocahontas (1995), Frozen (2013), Frozen 2 (2019), and Encanto (2021).
K-Pop Demon Hunters is the second non-Disney animated film, after Curious George (2006), to have a major success with its soundtrack album in the United States. K-Pop Demon Hunters' achievement is made even more special by being the first animated film about Asia to achieve this feat.
So far, this Netflix film's soundtrack has achieved the same success as the albums from Pocahontas, Curious George, and Frozen II. All three animated film soundtracks spent a week at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
As of the third week of September 2025, the K-Pop Demon Hunters OST album has reached 128,000 equivalent album units, according to Luminate data. This figure is a combination of traditional physical album sales of 23,000 copies and 103,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units.
SEA is the conversion of song streams into album sales. 103,000 SEA equates to 141.08 million on-demand streams as of September 11, 2025. In the past week, the K-Pop OST album for Demon Hunters also recorded 2,000 track equivalent album (TEA) units.
TEA is the conversion of single track downloads into one album unit. 2,000 TEA is equivalent to the purchase of 20,000 digital songs. On Spotify, the album, featuring EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami as HUNTR/X, has been streamed over 2.8 billion times.
"Golden" is the most streamed song, with 597 million streams as of Thursday (September 19, 2025). In second place is "Your Idol" with 372 million streams, followed by "Soda Pop" with 345 million streams.
