The production team of the latest Korean drama “ The New Employee Chairman Kang ” (literal translation title) officially confirmed that actor Lee Jun Young will appear as the male lead.
The Korean drama 'The New Employee Chairman Kang' tells the story of Kang Yong Ho, the chairman of the large conglomerate Choi Sung Group who is known as a business genius.
However, his life changes drastically after an accident causes his soul to be swapped with Hwang Joon Hyun, a young soccer player who joins the first division club FC Choiseong.
Lee Jun Young will play two characters at once: Kang Yong Ho, a CEO who built a top 10 Korean business empire, and Hwang Joon Hyun, a talented athlete who was supposed to shoot up to the Premier League.
The exchange of their souls gives rise to a unique story of a veteran executive who is now trapped in the body of a young athlete, and suddenly lives life as a new employee at a large conglomerate. This change paves the way for a story full of intrigue, surprises, and unexpected business strategies.
"The New Employee Chairman Kang" is adapted from a web novel by San Kyung, the author of "Reborn Rich," which was a huge success through a 2022 drama adaptation with peak ratings of 26.9 percent. Meanwhile, actress Jung Chaeyeon is reportedly in talks to join the project.
