Actor So Ji Sub has been confirmed to return to the drama world with a new action-noir series titled "Manager Kim." The drama is adapted from a popular webtoon of the same name and is scheduled to premiere as an SBS Friday-Saturday drama in 2026.
In this drama, So Ji Sub will play the character of Manager Kim, a father and savings bank employee who looks ordinary, but keeps a big secret as a former special agent. His peaceful life is shattered when his daughter, Min Ji, disappears without a trace.
To find her, Manager Kim is forced to reveal his former identity and risk everything to save her. Manager Kim's character is depicted as a veteran agent who has been involved in numerous dangerous missions, even landing on North Korea's most-wanted list.
In South Korea, he is considered a "ticking time bomb" whose existence must remain a secret. The production team stated that “Manager Kim” will be a solid blockbuster, combining an original storyline with So Ji Sub’s brilliant performance.
The actor, known for his action roles, will portray a duality of character, from a protagonist in a noir film to a down-to-earth side as a father who is willing to do anything for his child. “Please look forward to ‘Manager Kim,’ where So Ji Sub’s performance will truly shine,” said the production team.
