BLACKPINK's Jennie showed off her creative side outside of the music world. She released a new font called Zen Serif through her agency, Odd Atelier (OA), in commemoration of Hangul Day (the traditional Korean alphabet) on Thursday (October 9, 2025).
Through this font, Jennie aims to introduce the beauty of Hangul to the world in a modern way. She also wants to show her love for the Korean language and culture, her birthplace. On her social media, Jennie wrote a short but meaningful caption, "A font to celebrate Hangul Day - Zen Serif, out now."
"A font variant to celebrate Hangul Day - Zan Serif, is out now!" Along with the font launch, OA also confirmed an official collaboration with Meta. This marks the first collaboration between OA and Meta to introduce the Hangul font to the short video app Instagram Edits.
Starting October 9, 2025, Instagram users worldwide will be able to use the Zen Serif font for free in their video captions and creative content. The Zen Serif font is designed to blend the traditional beauty of Hangul with Jennie and OA's signature modern touch.
The design is inspired by classic Western blackletter fonts, but made softer and more flexible for a contemporary feel. OA explained that Zen Serif aims to break away from the rigid impression by minimizing decoration and adding subtle curves to each character.
The result is a font that looks elegant yet remains easy to use across a variety of media. "The process took months to maintain the balance between visual power and Korean cultural nuances," OA explained.
The launch of Zen Serif immediately attracted attention on social media and in the design community. Many fans praised Jennie for daring to step out of her comfort zone and channel her creativity into new areas.
