TXT's Huening Kai recently caused a stir among fans. A video circulated showing him hugging a woman tightly in front of a nightclub. The video immediately went viral on social media, sparking various rumors among South Korean netizens.
The anonymous uploader claimed that Huening Kai and the woman in the video had been drinking alcohol all night. The nightclub where the two were caught together was also known to have a private room, raising suspicions that Huening Kai and the woman had rented a private room.
The issue escalated when an anonymous account claimed the two were chatting like a couple. Not only is the video captured of them hugging tightly, but Huening Kai is also seen guiding the woman into the car. This raises suspicions that the woman was heavily intoxicated after consuming alcohol.
After a heated discussion among netizens, Huening Kai finally spoke out privately on the Weverse platform. Using Weverse's paid service, Weverse DM, Huening Kai publicly apologized and clarified his comments. "I deeply apologize to MOA, and for some reason I avoided (talking about it).
At that time, I was with an acquaintance, and in a situation where I couldn't leave her alone," Huening Kai wrote early Friday (October 10, 2025). Huening Kai explained that at the time, he was simply helping a woman he knew who needed help because she was extremely drunk.
He helped her get home safely and immediately returned to her dorm. "So I helped her home and went straight back to the dorm alone. We went there because it was a holiday and it was the only place that still had a vacancy," Huening Kai said.
Huening Kai further stated that he didn't want to cause rumors that would damage the group's reputation since their debut. He admitted that he rarely leaves the house, and unfortunately, when he went to see a friend after a long time, negative rumors followed.
"I'm someone who rarely leaves the house, but I finally met an acquaintance after a long time, and things ended up like this. But I really couldn't leave him like that, so I just quickly took him home and went back to the dorm.
