The Thai government has officially appointed Lalisa 'Lisa' Manoban, a member of the popular South Korean girl group BLACKPINK, as a tourism ambassador for the brand, Amazing Thailand. Furthermore, Thailand is Lisa's birthplace.
BLACKPINK's Lisa has been appointed as Thailand's tourism ambassador, promoting Thailand's beauty and charm worldwide. The announcement was made by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on Wednesday October 15, 2025.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said the 28-year-old's presence as an ambassador was an important step in introducing Thailand's charm, diversity, and beauty from a fresh and inspiring new perspective.
"We want to make Thailand a quality and safe tourist destination, and always welcome local and international tourists warmly," said Thapanee, as quoted from The Straits Times website.
"We also want to strengthen Thailand's image as a vacation destination that offers memorable experiences at every step of the journey," he added. The appointment of the "Money" singer is a source of pride for the Thai people.
With her achievements and popularity on the global stage, Lisa is expected to be a powerful voice in introducing the charm of Thai culture, heritage, and unique hospitality to the world.
