Kim Woo Bin shared how he spent months practicing Arabic to master his role as the legendary Jin in the drama "Genie, Make A Wish." In order to keep his character authentic and true to his mythological origins, Kim Woo Bin practiced each of his Arabic lines up to 1,000 times per line.

"I listened to audio recordings of native speakers saying my lines at least 1,000 times per line," Kim Woo Bin was quoted as saying by the Korea JoongAng Daily, Wednesday October 15, 2025. "I have 52 lines in Arabic, so I think it's 52,000 plays in total," he continued.

According to the production staff, Kim Woo Bin even listened to the recordings constantly on set, during breaks, and even between shoots. He also worked with an Arabic language coach to ensure his pronunciation was completely accurate. His hard work paid off.

Kim Woo Bin's Arabic dialogue delivery in the drama Genie, Make A Wish earned widespread praise from viewers. Although the drama sparked controversy because it was considered insensitive to religious issues, Kim Woo Bin's acting skills and dedication still received high respect.

Genie, Make A Wish tells the story of a magic lamp that holds a genie after thousands of years of slumber. The lamp is found by a beautiful woman named Ga Young (played by Suzy), who has a unique and slightly psychopathic personality.

Kim Woo Bin plays a creature trapped in a magic lamp that can grant three wishes. As the story progresses, a big mystery emerges: how did Ga Young find the magic lamp, what are her three wishes, and will the genie really grant them all?
